INTENSIVE THERASUIT PROGRAM
This unique and effective program is an intensive therapy program for children with neuromuscular disorders, which includes three (3) hours per day, five (5) days per week for three (3) to four (4) weeks depending on the individual's needs.
Treatment sessions involve many techniques and tools including TheraSuit (Soft Dynamic Proprioceptive Orthosis), Universal Exercise Unit, Spider Cage, and functional activities.
TheraSuit is an orthosis that helps align the body as close to normal as possible. It provides proprioceptive input to the body. Reestablishing the correct postural alignment plays a crucial role in normalizing muscle tone, sensory and vestibular function.
Universal Exercise Unit (UEU) is a system of cage, pulleys, and straps that are used to isolate desired movements and strengthen the muscle groups responsible for that movement. It increases range of motion, improves muscle tone, strength and joint flexibility, and enables involvement in functional skills.
Spider Cage is a dynamic system of elastic cords which provides sensory input and independent movement while the body is suspended and supported.
Testimonial:
"I was so happy to see my son (A.G) sit up by himself with his head up and smiling
with little help for the first time. This suit and the way the therapist put it on him
was a miracle" - Elizabeth, mother of A.G. with CP, torticolis and low muscle tone
